about

Vicky Yoon, better known to her parents as Chaebin (채빈), is a “1.5 generation” Korean American and longtime resident of the Greater Sacramento area. Her worldview is informed by her faith as a Christian, as well as her identity and upbringing as a Korean American. Her recent projects ask questions concerning the decolonization of Christianity and its expressions of faith. She finds photography as the most useful tool on learning how to see. Therefore, photography is both an expression of worship to the Creator of all things seen and unseen and a tool to engage dialogue in difficult or abstract topics.

Yoon holds an Associate of Arts degree from Sierra College in Photography and Video and will be graduating California State University-Sacramento with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography.
